September 5, 2026

On September 5, 2026, Housing Support Rides hosted a community picnic to celebrate our members’ achievements and recognize the progress they have made in the program.

At Housing Support Rides, we are committed to building a community that fosters strength, honors growth, and promotes resilience through engagement, recognition, and celebration.

What Happened

The picnic took place at Western Hills Park in Maplewood, Minnesota, on a bright, sunny, and pleasantly breezy day. Approximately 50–70 people attended the event, which was organized by senior members of Housing Support Rides.

From noon until 5:30 p.m., guests enjoyed a variety of bonding activities and team games, including volleyball, along with other interactive exercises that helped strengthen connections across the community.

A generous spread of food was provided, featuring both Hmong dishes and American favorites such as rice, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and steak—more than enough for everyone.

The day concluded with a recognition ceremony honoring members for their recovery progress. Many received specialized certificates marking important milestones in their journeys.

Why It Matters

This picnic was more than a gathering—it was an opportunity for the Housing Support Rides community to come together, celebrate individual growth, and affirm the strength and resilience of our members.
